Nightfall Kicks Off 24th Year

nightfallThe Summer is officially here when the Nightfall Concert Series begins each year in Miller Plaza, Downtown. This year Seattle-based band band Polyrhythmics will headline the opening night with Chattanooga’s Opposite Box opening. Admission is FREE and the music will begin at 7p.m. (Headliner at 8p.m.). Bring your kids, lawn chairs, pets and friends to enjoy great live music, food and an ice cold beer in the outdoor atmosphere of Miller Plaza.

Choo-Choo Jubilee
In celebration of the famous Glenn Miller version of “Chattanooga Choo-Choo,” the Chattanooga Choo-Choo Hotel will host an all-day event Saturday with parties, live music and more throughout the complex. The day will also mark the official dedication of the 2-acre rose garden at the complex, which will be renamed Glenn Miller Gardens. Click here for more information.

Homers for Heroes at AT&T Field
Homers for Heroes features 16 local companies competing in an afternoon home run derby at AT&T Field on Saturday. Proceeds will benefit Nathan Sexton, a local father and husband who is battling an aggressive brain tumor. (Video of Nathan’s Story ) The derby is from 12 to 5 p.m., and only one team will win. Admission is $5 online or $10 at the door, but additional donations will be accepted during the event. Former Atlanta Braves slugger Ryan Klesko will be swinging for the fences during batting practice and signing autographs throughout the afternoon.
